Configure the Windows Firewall to work with QuickBooks Desktop
You may need to adjust your Windows Firewall settings to allow QuickBooks Desktop access to the Internet. The easiest way to do this is by adding QuickBooks Desktop program files to the firewall exceptions list.
You can also allow access by opening ports. This is a less secure method, but you can use advanced options to increase security.
The following QuickBooks Desktop program files require Internet access:
- C:\ProgramFiles\CommonFiles\Intuit\QuickBooks\QBCFMonitorService.exe
- C:\ProgramFiles\CommonFiles\Intuit\QuickBooks\QBupdate\QBupdate.exe
