Revel POS users
Overview
Tills are the money trays that fit into the cash drawers. They help owners and managers keep track of the cash that passes through their business on a daily basis. The combined functionality of the Revel POS and Management Console allows users to track the various flows of money in and out of their tills, through extensive reporting and tracking. Tills can support up to four currencies, as configured on the Management Console, and support a variety of functions on the POS, such as pay-in / pay-outs, safe deposits, and transfers between virtual and physical tills. This guide is designed to help users configure and manage their tills and use the Management Console’s reporting capability to keep track of the cash moving in and out of their tills.
Till Settings
Till settings can be found on the Settings > Payments page under the Tills section. Virtual tills do not have the same restrictions as physical tills, as they are representative of the cash in an employees pocket. The image below shows the configurable settings on this page.

Settings | Description |

Track coins in tills | Checking this box enables the user to input specific numbers of coins when checking out a till. |
Currency coins | This field appears once “Track coins in tills” has been checked. In this field, the user enters the coin denominations that can be counted during till checkout (.01.05.10.25, etc). Corresponding coin fields for each denomination will be on the Till Management window when checking out a till on the POS. |
Default Value | Specifies a default for the starting amount of money in the till. This number can be modified by the cashier. |
Prompt to set tills upon login | Enabling this setting will prompt users to set a till when they login to the POS. The prompt window can be dismissed. |
Require setting of tills | If enabled, users will not be able to perform any order or till based action unless the till is set. |
